Close but no cigar!

This number got my heart racing, initially thought Buzzard, then thought ooh I don't know though, perhaps.....


Unfortunately the powers that be say "Common".  I say bugger! Any other thoughts, apart from what crap pictures, would be welcome

    Common Buzzard was my first thought, but a quick glance and the shots I had taken gave the impression of a long neck, but that was probably the angle. The carpals and underwing barring made me have a look again, didn't notice any under-tail bars,but it was going away by that time.
